Natural Dye Sampler Kit - Five Favourites

We've created this pack so you can have a play with our five most popular natural dye colours! We've also included a selection of mordants to prepare your textile (tee shirt / wrap / yarn) before dyeing. The selection of mordants in this kit are suitable for cellulose (ie cotton, linen) and protein (ie wool, silk) fibres.

Tannin is included to further prepare your textile to absorb and retain the colour, and iron is useful to enable you to tweak colours as you go.

Dyes included in this kit can create a variety of yellows, oranges, greens, greys, browns, reds and clay tones. The addition of iron can convert reds to deep wine tones, yellows to khaki tones and pinks to mauves & lilacs.

Natural Botanical Dye Powders | 20g each of: Madder, Marigold, Quebracho, Sappanwood Natural Botanical Dye Extract | 20g Myrobalan Grey
Tannin | 60g Gallnut
Mordants | 100g Alum, 30g Alum Acetate
Modifier | 5g Iron

The Kit also includes a guide on how to have fun with dyes whilst learning about chemistry in nature, as well as some fun ways to collect flowers and 'print' with them.

The volume of dye in this kit is enough to dye a garment or tea towel (or larger items if dipping or tie dying), per colour.
